Strike

The bearing, relative to north, of the line defined by the intersection of the fault plane and the Earth's surface (measured in degrees);

The strike direction is that one of the two horizontal directions in the fault plane for which the block containing the hanging wall is on the right, as viewed by an observer looking along strike.
